LIVE PIGEON SHOOTING
HAMILTON MAN. CIIAAhPION. By Telegraph.—Press .Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The New Zealand; live pigeon championship was fired torday in dull weather, but the absence: of wind was welcomed by shooters. There ‘ were 31 entries. The championship was won by M. Pratt (Hamilton), with E. F. Stead (Christchurch) runner-up. In the first shoot eight competitors killed 20 birds each —E. P. Graham, H. Grennell, R. Mcllwrick, M. Pratt, R. S. Taylor, E, F. Stead, H. M. Wright and W. G. Gerard. These divided the prizemoney. In the shoot-off Pratt shot 19 straight, Stead failed at tho 19th, Wright at the 16th, Taylor at the 11th, Gerard and Grennell at the sixth, and Graham at the fifth. Mcllwrick missed his-first bird.
