The funeral of Captain W. H. Hawkins took place at Te Henui Cemetery yesterday. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. J. D. McL. Wilson, Who paid a tribute to the' good qualities of Mr. Hawkins. The coffin was borne to the graveside by Messrs Percy, Rugby, William and Pat Hawkins, sons, and by Messrs. A. W. Allardyce and R. H. Baillie.- The gathering included representatives of the Presbyterian Church, ex-servicemen, members of the Masonic Lodge .and others associated "with the public and 6 emi-public bodies in which Mr. Hawkins had been interested.
