STOLE LIQUOR FROM HOTEL
BREWERY BURGLARY FAILS. TAIHAI’E MEN IMPRISONED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Aug. 5. Breaking into the storeroom after arousing and being refused liquor by the licensee of the Gretna Hotel, Taihape, about three o’clock on .Monday morning, Robert Boyd, aged 23, and John Warren, aged 31, stole a case of British stout. They opened the case on the roadside, drank freely and hid the rest in a oulvert. ■ An hour earlier they attempted to break into the Main Trunk brewery but the lock resisted all efforts. Warren was arrested on the river bank drinking from the bottles. Boyd was arrested at home with bottles in his possession. Both appeared before justices this morning. Boyd, with five previous convictions, was sentenced to six months and Warren, a married man, who is living "apart from his wife, and with one prevfous conviction, was sentenced to three months
