REFEREES FOR SATURDAY GAMES Referees were appointed last.night for Saturday’s northern matches of the Taranaki Rugby Union competitions. The fixtures are:— y First Juniors. Star A v. Star B, at Racecourse No. 1, 3 p.m., Mr. J. Eva. Tukapa v. Old Boys, at Racecourse No. 2, 3 p.m., Mr. Clarke. Third Grade. Old Boys v. Star, at Racecourse No. 1, 1.15 p.m., Mr. Retter. School v. Clifton, at Waitara, 1.30 p.m., Mr. McKeon. Fourth Grade. > Star v. School A, at School ground, 1.15 p.m., Mr. Nodder. Tukapa v. School B, at Racecourse No. 2, 1.15 p.m., Mr. Crone. Fifth Grade. Star v. School B, at Racecourse No. 4, 1.15 p.m., Mr. Gilmour. Tukapa v. School A, at Park, 1.15 p.m., Mr. Harrison. SUB-UNION RUGBY MATCH. WHANGAMOMONA TEAM CHOSEN The following will * represent the Whangamomona Sub-Union in the annual match against representatives of the Tainui Sub-Union at New Plymouth on August 9: —L. The game arranged for the purpose of choosing the representatives on Saturday resulted in a win for Whangamomona and Strathmore combined against the rest of the sub-union by six to nil. J. Coyne went through all the opposition backs and scored two good tries. Mr. G. Murphy refereed.
