: BUTTER QUIET; CHEESE STEADY. FIRM MARKET INDICATED. The cheese market in London is stead y and if favourable climatic conditions obtain the prices will be maintained. The butter market is quiet, the bank holiday demand having been satisfied, the Danish price, it is reported, has fallen 10s a cwt. Quotations cabled to Newton King, Limited, on Friday, were: Salted butter, 136 s to 138 s (i3ss to 138 s the previous week); unsalted, 150 s (146 s to 150 s); wheys, firsts, 130 s (1325); wheys, seconds, 128 s (130 s . coloured cheese, 82 to S3s (83s to 81s); white cheese, 77s to 79s (78s to 80s). Collett and Company, Limited, received advice that creamery butter was 1375. to 1395, white cheese 78s to 80s and coloured cheese 82s to 84s. Prices reported to the Anglo-Contin*, ental Company were 136 s to 138 s for butter, 78s td- 79s for white cheese and 82s to 83s for coloured cheese _ Mr. Hunter Harrison was advised that salted butter was 136 s to 138 s, unsalted butter 148 s. to 150 s, white cheese 77s to 79s and coloured cheese 82s to 83s.
