In lieu of that fixture the members will assemble at The Kennels, Bell Block. ■ > * • # ft * The hunter Marco Polo made his first appearance at the Waimate Hunt meeting and performed creditably. # # ft # The rising two-year-old half sister to Toxeuma'and own sister to Pakitere, Hine Wehi (Aransia —Te Aupaki;, is being prepared for early:spring racing.' # ■ ft ft Rose Willonyx, the disappointing halfsister to the successful South Islander Town Major, is being retired to the matron’s paddock and Hunting Song is cited as her consort. # ft * ft . . Nottava, who camo into the limelight this season through her brilliant daughter Gesture, is being sent back to New Zealand to be again .mated with Chief Ruler. Her owner, Mr. G. N. Magill, has a full-sister to Gesture, and this rising two-year-old has been put into work at Sydney. • • * * The crack three-year-old Hunting Cry, who was injured when racing at Trentham last January, has resumed work under J. M. Cameron at Hastings. # # ft ft Austerity, who camo back from Sydney on Tuesday, will be returned to her owner (Mr, Fred Dorset), as her lease is nearly up. # ft ft ft At Broken Hill on July 12 the South Broken Hill Cup was won by Hot Spring. This was the Chief Ruler gelding’s first success since he won the South Australian Derby last spring. ft ft ft ft Hynanna has improved a lot lately, and he will be a runner at Awapuni at the end of the month. By the way the Hymestra gelding is working he will not bo long before showing his best form again. PEDESTAL WITHDRAW. Palmerston N., July 24.
