FOOTBALL JUNIORS’ SUCCESS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Inglewood third junior football team has not lost a match so far this season, and to-morrow will meet Stratford at Stratford, and if successful in this match will be the winner of its grade for the central division. The following will represent Inglewood: S. Peters, E. Stuck, W. Goble, N. Mackinder, H. Burke, R. Crossman, D. Drake, J. Trigger, S. Nyhan, J. Alleman, A. Chapman, V. Beadle, R. Ross, E. O’Byrne, A. Thomason; emergencies, K. Burrows, W. Hanwright and C. Burke. A PROFITABLE VENTURE. At the recent dance and euchre party held by the Inglewood Volunteer Fire Brigade a profit of £l4 was made, and at a meeting held last night hearty votes of thanks to the ladies’ committee, which so ably assisted 111 making it a success, and to Mr. Rivett, who donated a large box of chocolates, were passed. TOWN CLERK’S ILLNESS. Mr. E. Olsen, town clerk, who during the week-end was taken seriously ill and was removed to the New Plymouth Hospital on Monday, is reported to be making satisfactory progress. BAND’S EUCHRE PARTY. The first of a new series of euchre, parties was held in the bandroom on Monday evening, when ten tables were engaged. The winners were: Ladies, Miss Meller 1, Mrs. Eva 2, Mrs. King consolation; men, Mr. Huzziff 1, Mr. Scott 2, Mr. Huzziff consolation. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. A meeting of the Tarata branch of the Women’s Institute was held on Thursday, when Miss Wicksteed presided over a very good attendance of members, including several of the Inglewood branch. A most interesting demonstration of pottery making was given by Mrs. McCorkindale, Feilding. LADIES’ HOCKEY TEAM. The team to play Pukearuhe at Waitara to-morrow will be selected from the following: Miss B. Burkhart, Mrs. Trass, Mrs. Worthington, Miss P. Burkhart, Misses N. Julian, R. Collingwood, R. Klenner, L. Collingwood, E, Dobson, I. King, B. Watkins, N. Hunt and Mrs. Dobsen. ’•TALKIE” INSTALLATION. The proprietors of Fre win’s Pictures at Inglewood some time ago decided to install the ’’talkies” and the installation of the latest Western Electric equipment was commenced on Monday.
