SYDNEY FIRE TRAGEDY
CORONER MOST SUSPICIOUS.
SMOKER WITH CELLULOID STOCK.

Rev. 8.30 p.m. Sydney, July 18. The coroner to-day investigated , the Vauxhall Chambers fire which was responsible for the deaths.of Mrs. and Miss Miller, formerly of Dunedin, on June 13. Ho was suspicious but did not attach blame to anyone.
The chief witness was Edward Peach, commission agent, occupant of the fourth floor where the fire originated and spread to the caretaker’s quarters above. He admitted being a heavy cigarette smoker and that he threw butts on the floor. A portion of his goods was celluloid. The coroner returned a verdict of accidental death of the two victims. He added that the circumstances were gravely suspicious but there was nothing definite against any person. Ho deeply sympathised with Mr. Miller.
