Six were killed and. 46 injured in a riot at Nansourah during. the visit of the former Premier Nahas Pasha, whose car, to which 30 students were clinging, charged through a police cordon. The car drove on until it encountered a supporting military cordon with fixed bayonets.

The mob. fusilladed the troops with stones and brickbats and fighting later broke out in the house where Nahas was lunching. ' Two police were killed and 28 injured. The mob attempted to hang a policeman by a wire noose from a window, but the wire broke. Finally mounted troops charged and dispersed the crowds.
