BALL AT TIKORANGI
SUCCESSFUL AND GAY FUNCTION.
Tikorangi surprised visitors, even those who expected something better than usual, when, a committee assisted willingly by the whole district carried a balf, in aid of funds for St. Luke’s Anglican Church, to such a successful end last night. Strangers were present from outlying districts and the people of Tikorangi “made them feel thoroughly at ease, dancing to the music of Boulton’s. orchestra.
The hall was strikingly decorated, blue and gold streamers swinging from below the°ceiling, with ferns and native shrubs arranged along the walls and above the many windows. The lights were shrouded in blue and gold, the large one which illuminated the stage 'being specially effective. The stage was
decorated in green, tnee ferns again playing a prominent part with blue and gold streamers caught in bows between them. Glimpses of the same cheerful colours were to be seen among tne foliage adorning the walls. A different scheme was followed in the arrangement of the supper room. On the two long tables were huge vases of flowers and greenery, while overhead green and pink were artfully twined. The walls were graced with curving tree ferns, green and pink decorations,. Messrs. I. Henderson, B. Foreman, A. Foreman and W. Fulfil w.erc the masters, of ceremonies. The committee was Mesdames Fanil, C. Foreman. H. Hills, H. Foreman, Dowrnan ami Paulger, Messrs. H. Hills, H. Foreman, C. Foreman, J. Paulger, T. Hine and R. Rolfe (secretary). The committee was helped by ladies of the district with, the sup-
per arrangements, the result being an over-supply of delicacies.
