TAXATION INCREASES
LAND AND INCOME LEVIES UP. An increase of £1 Os in two years in the taxation per head of the mean population of the Dominion is revealed in the preliminary figures of revenue from taxation for the year ended March 31, 1930, which, the Government Statistician sliotvs, compare as follow with the figures for the two preceding financial years, the totals being given in round thousands: — .
Of the amount shown under the heading of motor vehicles taxation for 192930, approximately £900,000 represented the proceeds of motor spirits taxation, £160,000 tyre tax and £390,000 fees, etc., under the Motor Vehicles Act.
