AN AUCKLAND LAWYER. RECENT CASE AT APIA. With the intention of appealing to the Government against the action of the Administrator of Samoa, Mr. S. S. He found there was plenty of legal work offering and after two months had built up an excellent practice. He had had considerable success in his Court work, frequently appearing for natives and obtaining acquittals through irregularities in prosecution. Then one morning he received a call from the Administrator s aide-de-camp, who told him that the Administrator wished to see him. “I called at Mr. Allen’s office and was received very courteously,” Mr. Fitzerbert continued. “His Excellency asked me whether I- knew that lie had the power to cancel my license. I told him 1 did not see how the question could arise and he then informed me that my license was cancelled. “Accordingly, I shall leave Auckland for Wellington some time this week to obtain an interview with the Prime Minister.”
