WHITELEY CHURCH CHOIR
REPORTS ON THE YEAR’S WORK. At the annual meeting of Whiteley Church choir on Thursday evening the Rev. C. Eaton presided over an attendance of about 20. . The annual report stated that the membership showed a decrease on the numbers for the. previous, year. The finances were in a healthy condition, the treasurer reporting a credit balance of £l2 10s., compared with £7 10s. at the end of the previous year. The report of the librarian showed that the choir library was in a very good state, the total number of anthems being 80, with a number of cantatas and partsongs and other music. ’ : . The chairman congratulated the choir on the year’s work, Mr. R. Laurie .Cooper (choirmaster) returning thanks. Officers were, elected as' follows: Secretary, Miss H. Pearce; treasurer, Mr. C. Head; librarians, Misses Z. Kivell and M. Sedgwick; steward, Miss J. Eaddy; committee, Mrs. O. Berg, Miss F. Sutherland, Messrs. Eaddy and Cartwright. A resolution of appreciation of the work of Miss Sutherland, secreta-ry of the choir for 10 years, was recorded. Members were invited to join in the. “Messiah” concert during music week.
