Page, S.M., inflicted ft fine of £5O, in default three months' imprisonment, on Ralph Antonovich, a widower, for administering a dangerous drug to a young girl. Antonovich is a labourer, 45 years of age. He made the acquaintance of the girl, who is 17, through his own daughter, who is 20. He started to take her out, according to the police story, and . giving her, a drug in coffee and soft drinks. Later he used a. hypodermic syringe and site was sent to hospital for 14 days. The magistrate remarked that it would be difficult to imagine a case worse in its characteristics. He said'that apparently the drug was administered with an ulterior object in view.
