With eleven months of the dairying season gone, production in the Auckland province is greater by over 17 per cent, than was the case in the preceding season, and although price levels have been substantially lower the increased yield will more than balance that disadvantage. On an average payment of Is 3d per lb. for. butterrfat this season’s financial return . would be £7,970,187. Estimating, the value of last season’s production on the average payment of Is production for the eleven months yielded a return of £7,589,076. On that comparison the Auckland.. dairy farmers should be approximately £381,111 to the good this season.
