DECEPTION LEADS TO CRIME. When the late Sir Ralph Chester died and left his property to be equally divided between his twin sons, the Baronetcy should have passed, of course, to the eldest son, Ralph. Ralph Chester, however, ever a wanderer, sees no pleasure in settling down to the life of a country gentleman. Consequently, he almost welcomed the irregular and somewhat fraudulent course suggested by his brother, Vallancc, to the effect that they should exchange identities. They changed names: Vallauce becoming Sir Ralph Chester, and Ralph Chester, Mr. Vallante Chester. Inevitably, complications arise from this arrangement, some amusing, others very alarming and embarrassing. The story of how both the brothers become suitors to the same girl, a desire that leads one of them into crime, is the theme of our great new serial, “The Man with the Dalmatian,” by Francis Furness, author of “Fluttering Wings.” LOOK OUT FOR THE MAN WITH THE DALMATIAN The first instalment will appear in the Daily News on Wednesday, June 18.
