The death of Lord Glendyne, the Anglo-Australian financier, is reported by cable from London, Major W. T. Joll, Waitara, who served in the Boer War and the Great War in the Wellington and West Coast Regiment, has been awarded the long-service medal. ' . ’ Mr. Francis Robinson, J.P., the eldest son of the late Captain Robinson, _ a pioneer settler in the Manawatu district, died at Foxton on Friday, states a Press Association message. He was 84 years of age. His only son was killed in. the Great War. The death occurred„at Tauranga on Friday of. Mr. H. J., Wilkie, brother of Mr. W. J. Wilkie, Carrington Road, New Plymouth. Mr. Wilkie resided ,in New Plymouth for many yearn and. was a builder and contractor in partnership with the late Mr, Pikett. Among other big .contractg carried out by Diem was the erection, of the New Plymouth office. . . - - The death of Mr. Robert Hannah, of R. Hannah and ■ ■ Co., boot manufacturers, aged 84, ie reported by the Press Association from- Wellington.-- Mr. Hannah was apprenticed to bootmaking in Ireland and went to Queensland; when he wus 18 yeare of age. He arrived all Hokitika in 1866 and four, years later founded R. Hannah and Co.> Charleston, In 1874 the firm was transferred to Weh lington. „ \
