PROGRESS OF MOTUROA
REQUESTS TO BOROUGH COUNCIL. A deputation from the Moturoa Progressive Association, consisting of Messrs. W. F. Honeyfield, R. Glengarry, L. Sutton, Paul, George and Jenkins, met the works committee and engineer of the New Plymouth Borough Council on Monday at the junction of the Breakwater Road and Bayly Road. The request of the deputation for improvements to be effected to Bayly Road were given sympathetic consideration by the works committee, and- no doubt some-' thing will be done as a result of the discussion. The works committee and engineerafterwards met a deputation consisting of Messrs. Glengarry, Honeyfield and Sutton, representing the Ngamotu Domain Committee, and discussed, amongst other things, the possibility of engaging some of the unemployed in connection with the laying-out of a football ground and tennis courts, but it would appear that the borough council had already reached the limit of Its present resources in the carrying-out of work under the unemployment scheme, though the council is sympathetic in giving assistance to the Domain Committee. The lowering of the Domain gates and the tar-sealing of the approach thereto, together with other necessary improvements, will. be at once under r taken.
