NEW CATHOLIC HALL.

OPENING AT MANAIA. The new Catholic social hall at Manaia was formally opened on Thursday evening, when a social and dance was held There was a good attendance of local residents and a merry time was spent dancing to music played by the Dixie Six Orchestra. The building was originally the old convent school. This was removed to a new site and the old Hibernian hall was added to make a supper room.* The remodelled building makes a very attractive social hall and it is proposed to hold a series of dances and socials throughout the winter months in order to raise funds to pay off the existing liability.
