NEW PLYMOUTH AERO CLUB
FEDERATION OF CLUBS APPROVED A meeting of the New Plymouth Aero Club yesterday, Mr. G. M. Spence presiding, discussed the proposals for the federation of clubs. Mr. Spence reported he had attended the conference at Blenheim. A committ- had been appointed to arrange for the formation of a federation of the clubs and to discuss matters of interest with the Government. The committee had visited the meteorologist, Dr. Kidson, and had arranged for visibility reports to be taken each day; satisfactory arrangements had been made with the Secretary of the Post Office. The constitution had been revised, the clubs being circularised with a number of amendments.
There was to be. a conference on Saturday at Wellington, reported the chairman, of the delegates of the clubs for the purppse of signing the revised constitution, which would make the clubs one unit. There would be only nine clubs in New Zealand, a combination of New Plymouth, Hawera, Wanganui, and Palmerston North to constitute the Western Club.
Mr.. Spence was appointed to attend the meeting at Wellington. It was reported that the meeting to form the Western Federation would be held at Hawera on. Monday night. The meeting approved the constitution, which gives the federation control of the flying area between Mokau and Manawatu. Messrs. Spence, Hannan and Nielson were deputed to represent the club at the meeting. Mr. Spence voiced appreciation of Flying-Officer I. Keith’g work for the club. ‘
It was- reported that a work bench had been installed at the aerodrome, but the tools had not yet been forwarded. Flying-Officer Keith was deputed to attend to securing the tools.
