' ALTON MAN VISITS CANADA. Mr. J. Proffitt, of Alton, South Taxahaki, has gone io Canada and entered the dairy industry there. ’Concerning him the Ontario Intelligencer says: “Anxious to learn how cheesemaking and dairying are carried on in this country J. Proffitt, of Now Zealand, camo to Canada a short time ago and asked if he could be placed in a cheeso factory this spring and summer. The Department of Agriculture choose the finest cheesemaking section in Canada and sent him'to J. L. Irwin, local dairy grader, wao succeeded in placing him in. Rogers’ factory at Frankford. “Mr. Proffitt • arrived ia Bellville this morning and almost immediately left for Frankford, where he will commence his duties. Mr. Profitt is an expert dairyman and is 23 years of age, having served six years in the trade in. his own country. }le will remain in Canada about a year and will then, take his practical experiences Lack to New Zealand to apply them there.”
