RUGBY ART UNION
A DOMINION-WIDE SCHEME. Air. W. J. Potter, organiser to the Taranaki Rugby Union’s £4OOO art union, who has returned from a fortnight’s tour of the Dominion, reports that matters are now well in train from the Bay of Islands to Invercargill. The Dominion, for the purposes of the art unionj has been divided into ten districts —five in the North Island and five in The South. Each district is under the supervision and control of a district agent. Altogether the district agents control approximately 2500 selling agents in every town and township, and have a complete register of every book issued. This register is to be returned to the head office before the draw takes place and is to be cheeked with the main register kept at the head office. The main register is to be again checked with all tickets sold just prior to the draw. This ensures that only the tickets actually sold, and every- one of those, participates in the draw. The check and the draw are to be under Government supervision. Mr. Potter stateu that-a, very, pleasing feature was the manner in which the art union was being taken up by football club secretaries throughout the Dominion.
