EGMONT HOMING CLUB RACE

B. SOLE WINS FLOCK EVENT. The Egmont (New Plymouth) Homing Club flew a flock race from Palmerston North last Saturday under ideal weather conditions. Six members sent 50 birds to the liberation point. The birds were liberated at 10.30 a.m., the winner homing at 1.12 36sec., winning by the narrow margin of 4sec. The places were filled as follow: — B. Solera No. 20, 2hrs. 42min. 36sec., velocity 1352.92 yards per min. 1 J. Bellringer’s No. 49, 2hrs. 42min. 40sec., 1352.76 yards per min. .. 2 A. Raby’s No. 3, Eaglet, 2hrs. 42min.
