heatley wins cycle road race
The New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club held a cycle road race on Saturday' from Windy Point to the Oaknra Hotel and back. The distance was about 13 imiles. Retails arc: — ■L. Gillies had the bad luck to break his cycle before the start of the race. The scratch man did not gain ground at all, leaving Heatley to win by two seconds from Reed, whose time was 40min 2see. Horine’s time was 41min.
