'VALUELESS CHEQUES USED

' • ’ Alfred .Randolph Parton, aged 27, a surveyor, who walked into the detcetivo office on May 1, and informed the police that ho had been issuing valueless cheques, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day with issuing ‘ cheques valued at £5O 10s. He was "granted two years probation. He explained that he came to Auckland to enter a position, but was disappointed ind went on a drinking bout.
