QN THURSDAY NEXT, May 8, at 3 p.m., the Honourable the Minister for Mines will officially declare Omata open for operation. The Directors of the Company (Coal, Oil N.Z. Ltd.) extend an invitation to all interested in Oil Development in New Zealand to attend the Ceremony which will be held on the site at Omata. The Plant, which commenced. Drilling on April 24, is actually the largest and most comprehensive ever operated in either Australia or New Zealand, and is capable of reaching a depth of 8000 feet. Its progress in Drilling, to date, L unparalleled in this part of the world, and will be a source of interest to observers of modern methods. The Chairman of Directors, Senator J. D. Millen (M.I.E. Aust.) will be present. DOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting, of the'New Plymouth Borough Council held on the 28th day of April, 1930, it was resolved (by way of Special Order) that in pursuance of the powers contained in “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and of all other powers it thereunto enabling the New Plymouth Borough Council make and ordain a By-law the object and purport of which is as follows:— No person shall in any premises adjoining or near any street footpath or public place by playing any gramophone or musical instrument or operating any wireless or other i device or by making any other noise cause a nuisance or annoyance to persons in or on such street, footpath or public place.
