LAND'S FOR SETTLEMENT
INVESTIGATION COMMENCED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, May 6. The advisory committee for the Wellington Lands District, comprising the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr. H. W. Mackintosh, and Messrs. James G’eor- ■ getti and L. T. Daniell, recently set up under the provision of last year’s legislation to investigate all unoccupied and undeveloped land in the Wellington Land District, is in Wanganui. The committee is making preliminary investigation of all unoccupied areas within the district, and with a view to advising the Lands Department Board on the areas suitable for development prior to settlement or suitable for settlement with assistance for development to thesettlers. The committee will immediately set out on a comprehensive tour' of inspeei tion of available areas. As the areas I arc investigated the committee will subI mit its reports and recommendations i to the Lands Development Board, Wellington, for its consideration. The committee ' will continue 1 investigations at the Lands'Office, Wanganui, to-morrow.
