PARNELL BY-ELECTION

FIGHT TO SECURE VOTES. (By Wire-Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. Pile Parnell by-election campaign waxed warmer at the close of this week, and greater interest has now been aroused. The three parties concerned in the fight arc straining every effort to secure every vote possible, and elaborate arrangements have been made for the trolling, when a great fleet of motorcars will be in use.

The result of the contest will remain in doubt until the numbers are counted, but at present the Reform candidate, Mr. Endcan, is ruling a slightly better favourite in political circles than his United Party opponent, Mr. Donald. At the same time, Mr. Donald’s supporters are confident, and he who would prophesy the result would be only guessing. Labour is working hard, but the present indications are that Mr. BloodwOrth will .not top the poll.
