VITAL STATISTICS. The following are the vital statiisticis for Inglewood°for April, 1930, figures for the corresponding month last year being shown in parentheses: Births, 9 (7)deaths, 3 (0); marriages, 5 (5). APRIL WEATHER. The total rainfall at. Inglewood for April amounted to 7.89 inches, rain falling on ten days. The heaviest' falls were 3.33 inches on the 20th, 1.60 inches on the 28th, and 1.55 inches on the Bth. In April, 1929 6.13 inches fell on fifteen days, the heaviest fall being on the 13th, when 2.38 inches fell. The average, fall for April is 5.96 inches. The driest April was that of 1923,' when 2.23 inches fell, and the wettest that of 1920,.when 12.53 inches fell. For 1930. to date the rainfall amounts to 27.14 inches on 43 days, as compared with 16.50 inches on 42 days for the same period last year. GOLF SEASON OPENED. The official opening of the 1930 season of the Inglewood Golf Club was held yesterday in fine weather, when there was a good attendance of members. The president, Mr. Darlow, declared the links open, and the afternoon was spent in the playing of a mixed foursome. The links on the whole were in very good condition, and a very pleasant afternoon was spent. The winners of the competition were S. Lovell and Aliss McLean, who returned a card of 93 .with a handicap of 23, making their net score 70. The runners-up were O’Carroll and Mrs- Partridge with a net score of 82, while several other good cards were also returned.
