DEVELOPMENT IN TIMARU CASE.

When the grand jury returned a true bill against George Arthur King on R charge of having obtained £36 10fi by false pretences, the Crown was unable to proceed with the prosecution owing to the acetified having absconded from his bail which had been fixed in the lower court at £l5O in his own recognisance and one surety of £l5O. The Crown prosecutor said that accused had absconded from his bail and that the police had every reason to believe he had left the country. Counsel would therefore make application to have the bail estreated. The case was held over until the next session of the court.
