INDECENT EXPOSURE

SHIP’S CAPTAIN’S OFFENCE.

Auckland, Last Night.

Arrested in Albert Park shortly after noon to-day, Egerton Edward Bulkeley, captain of the ship City of Winnipeg, appeared at the Police Court this afternoon charged with wilful indecent exposure. Bulkeley, who is 55 years of a 0 pleaded guilty to the offence and was lined £lO. Mr. Allan Smyth, who appeared for accused, said Bulkeley found himself in a most difficult position. He was a married man gjid was 55. He had been employed by his present shipowners as master for 10 years. He had never been in any trouble previously. “He cannot explain why he committed this offence,” said Mr. Smyth. “It is one of .those inexplicable eases,” said the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, in fining accused £lO. He remarked that it was fortunate for him that the Act was altered recently to enable a fine to be imposed-
