STARVING MAN STEALS
WALKED FROM SHOP WITH TILL.

Auckland, April 26.
Reginald Kennedy, aged 29, was caught by a shop-keeper on Thursday night leaving the shop with the till under his arm.
He said this morning that at the time he had been hungry for two days. He went into the shop to ask for food, was tempted and fell. The arresting constable said that Kennedy, when charged with the theft, pulled a razor from his pocket, and said: “This is what I was going to use on myself to-night.” Accused was remanded in charge of the Salvation Army.
