Due Bluff May 5. Melbourne May 9. COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Himatangi arrived at New Plymouth on Wednesday, She left in the afternoon for Tarakohe to load for Foxton. (Hooker Bros.), The Totara lad at Lyttelton on Wednesday for New Plymouth direct, and is due to-morrow. She will later proceed to Nelson. ’ (U.S.S. Co.) The Kaimiro loaded at Dunedin on Thursday for New Plymouth, via Tiinaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Nelson, proceeding later to Westport. She is due at New Plymouth on Tuesday. The Kanna arrived at New Plymouth from Westport yesterday. She will proceed .to Wellington to complete discharge on Monday. The John is due at New Plymouth from southern ports on Monday, and sails for the Waikato on Tuesday. (Hooker Bros.) The Progress loads at Dunedin on Saturday and proceeds via Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington for New Plymouth and Waikato.

ONEHUNGA FERRY’ SERVICE. The Ngapuhi with passengers and cargo arrived at New Plymouth from Onehunga yesterday. She sails for Onehunga this evening. When she returns to Onehunga from New Plymouth on May 3 the vessel will be withdrawn from the -ervice. She will then go to Auckland and relieve the Clansman in the Russell service on May 5, while the Clansman undergoes overhaul. The Ngapuhi will be replaced on the Onehunga run by the motor vessel Hauturn, which will run a bi-weekly cargo service between Onehunga and New Plymouth. FREIGHT ON BULK CARGOES. Owing to the growing tendency to prepay freight in Australia, and on account of the adverse exchange position, overseas shipowners have been compelled to stipulate that freight on bulk cargoes such as wheat, flour, ore, etc., must be paid on delivery. For all other classes of iion-refrigerated cargo this regulation c o into operation on Monday, April 14, v ith the exception of wool purchased prior to that date, for which bills of lading are signed not later than April 22. After April 22 freight on all classes of non-refrigerated cargo, including wool, must be paid at port of delivery. HERTFORD CLEARS NEW PLYMOUTH. Loading to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company, the Federal steamer Hertford left New Plymouth on Thursday for Wellington. From there the ves«el will later proceed to Napier and Auckland to fill up and is scheduled to clear the northern port on May 10 for London, Hamburg, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. RANGITHkI FOR ENGLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-liner Rangitiki, which is scheduled to leave 1 'ellington at daybreak to-day for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal, will carry a record number of passengers leaving New Zealand for England by a direct steamer. There are 132 first-class, 75 second-class, and 290 third-class, a total of 497 already booked, and the usual last minute bookings will probably bring this to over the 500 mark. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS..
