THEFT AND FORGERY CHARGE
MEN REMANDED TIDE? WEDNESDAY Ou the application of Detective Mciklejohn the hearing of theft .and forgery charges was adjourned till Wednesday when the matters came before Messrs. E. C. Hayton and O. E. Fly ger, J.’sP. in New Plymouth yesterday. Robert Harvey Campbell was charged that on or about March 6, at New Plymouth, he stole a wallet containing one section rafhvay ticket, one commercial traveller’s ticket, one cosmopolitan ticket and a cheque book containing 17 blank foi ms, of a total value of £l3O, the property of Robert McMillan. Detective Meiklejohn said further, inquiries had to be made and they might not be able to proceed with the case even on Wednesday. Llewlyn Price was charged that, on March 7, at Stratford, he forged a cheque for £5, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand at Palmerston North, purporting to he signed by Robert McMillan, with intent that .it. should be acted upon as if genuine.
