SCARFACE CAPONE RAIDED

POISONED BULLETS FOUND “ ■ i CHICAGO GANGSTERS’ METHODS. GARLIC ON DUMDUM BULLETS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.30 p.m. Chicago, April 22. Following a raid on “Scarface” Capone’s headquarters at a Chicago hotel by the police, Lieutenant Blaul stated that he found “six boxes of cartridges which had been dipped in something which, knowing these hoodlums as I do, I presume to be garlic. Lead and garlic in a bullet would poison a person.. It would start tetanus and end in death. “As if that was not enough,” added the lieutenant, “most of the bullets were of the dumdum type. There is no question that the bullets were, intended as a sure death message to anybody aimed at.”
