DECLINE IN PORK CONTINUES.

At the Westfield fat stock market today ox beef was offered in larger numbers than last week. Quality was well up to standard and values were on a par with late rates. Medium bullocks realised £ll 10s to £ll 15s; lighter £9 15s to £lO 17s Gd; light and unfinished £8 to £9 ss.

; Cow and heifer beef was also yarded, iin average numbers, which sold under Isteady demand at-full rates. Light and unfinished sorts were perhaps a shade easier. A pen of extra prime and heavy Polled Angus heifers realised £ll 17« Gd. Good quality young cows and heifers realised £9 10s to £lO 10s; medium £8 2s Gd to £9; lighter sorts £7 5s to £7 17s Gd; aged and light cows £5 15s to £6 12s 6d. Extra choice ox sold, to 37s per 1001 b.; choice and prime 34s to 365; secondary plain 32s to 33s 6d; prime young cow and heifer 30s to 335; just killable 25s to 295. Sheep were yarded in numbers well up to average and taken throughout th® quality was first class, selling under a steady demand at full late rates. Extra heavy prime wethers brought 28s fid to 29s Gd; heavy prime 27s to 28s 3d; medium 25s to 26s fid; light and unfinished 23s fid to 24s 3d; heavy prime ewes 17s fid to 18s 6d; lighter 14s 6d; other ewes 12s fid to 13s 3d. An average yarding of fat lambs sold steadily at about on a par with the previous week’s rates. Medium prime lamb made 20s; light 17s 6d. A fair yarding of calves sold at values about on a par with last week’s,, sale. Runners made £5 to £6 ss; heavy vealers £4 4s to £4 14s; mediujn £3 8s to £3 18s; light £2 12s to £3 ss; small £1 5s to £2.

Pigs were penned in moderate numbers and values eased ’ again on last week’s rates, heavy pigs being affected most.. Choppers made up to £3 16s; heavy baeoners £3 6s to £3 Ils; medium and light £2 15s to £3 ss; heavy porkers £2 12s to £2 17s; medium and light £2 3s to £2 10s.
