CHANGE TO OLD RUGBY RULE

EXCEPTIONS IN CANTERBURY.

By Telegraph.—Press Association

Christchurch, Last’ Night.

The Canterbury Rugby Union to-night carried by a decisive majority a motion to adopt the old rules for all grades for the present season. It was decided, however, that in club matches the replacement of injured players should be allowed and that the rule requiring a player claiming a mark to make a mark in the turf with his heel be not enforced. These exceptions will not apply to representative matches.
