TWO OCCUPANTS IN HOSPITAL.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., April 18. A mixed train proceeding to Woodville at a quarter past el'even this morning struck a motor-lorry, which stalled °on the line at Victoria Avenue crossing. Mr. Leonard Simmonds, driver of the lorry, and Mr. C. N. Clausen, a borough councillor, are in hospital, the former with a broken arm and the latter with touts and bruises. The other passengers, Mrs. Simmonds, Mr. and Mrs. Jessup and Miss Moana Clausen, escaped unhurt. ■ The train was 100 yards away when the lorry stalled, and the engine-driver sounded a warning whistle.
