The Plunket Shield cricket match between Otago and Wellington was concluded on Carisbrook to-day when the Otago side-collapsed when in sight .of victory. The weather was warm and sunny, the wicket was in good order and the outfield was as fast as it had been through the match. . Wellington had six wickets down for 122 in the second innings when play resumed, and 7 ; their innings was brought to a close before lunch, the last wicket -falling when the total was 172. This left the Otago side 258 to make to win.
