GERMAN OPERA SINGER DIES

CAREER OF EMMY DESTINN. The opera singer Emmy Destinn has died, reports the Press Association from London. Her principal parts since she was engaged at the Royal Opera House, Berlin, in 1898, were Senta, Mignon, Carmen and Santuzza. Emmy, who was born in Prague on February 20, 1878, was the daughter of Herr E. Kittel, but took the name of Mme. Loewe Destinn, under whom she studied. She wrote a number of poems.
