TARANAKI’S MEN CHOSEN" FINAL SELECTION WEEK BEFORE. THE WAIKATO MATCH AT EASTER The cricket eleven to represent Taranaki in its representative fixture against the M.C.C. touring team at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, on Saturday, February 22, and February 24, will be finally selected a week before the match from sixteen players. The players were selected by Messrs >l. Brown and H. R. Penny, the. Taranaki selectors, last night. They are: — 0. M. Nasmith (New Plymouth). C. Kingstone (New Plymouth). C. G. Clarke (New Plymouth). A. Petty- (Old Boys). L. Petty (Old Boys). F. J. Eggleton (Old Boys). S. Giddy (Country Association). J. Sarten (Country Association). N. Gibson (Country Association). J. Cheevers (Hawera Old Boys). H. Barker (Hawera Old Boys). S. A. Lay (Hawera Old Boys). J. Moloney (Hawera Old Boys). S. Betts (Kaponga). R. Eden (Okaiawa). T. Young (Hawera). At a meeting of the Taranaki Cricket Association held in Hawera last night it was decided that the captain should be recommended by the selectors and appointed by the association. Arrangements arc to be made for the representative fixture Taranaki v. Waikato to be played at Hamilton at Easter, probably on Saturday and Monday. It was decided that the date of the provincial final between the champion team in North Taranaki and the champion team in Smith Taranaki be not later than the last Saturday in March.
