BUTTER MARKET WEAK AND SLOW QUOTATIONS DOWN TO 150s-1545. The butter market in London is very slow and cheese is quiet, according to cablee received by New Zealand agents yesterday. Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., were advised that butter was quoted at 150 s to 154 s a cwt. and cheese at 90s to 91s for white and 88s to 89s for coloured. The Anglo-Continental Company was advised that butter was weaker at 154 s to 155 s a cwt. and cheese was steady at 88is to 89s for coloured and 90s to 91s for white. AUSTRALIAN WHEAT HARVEST. ESTIMATED SURPLUS FOR EXPORT Sydney, Jan. 29. . The Government Statistician estimates the wheat harvest for the current season in New South Wales will bo 11,948,000 bags. The estimated surplus for export will be about 24,000,000 bushels, which is 11,000,000 lower than last season. The harvest is the equivalent of 35,844,000 bvchele. WOOL PRICES UNCHANGED. KEEN COMPETITION MET. Rec. 9.45 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 29. At the wool sales 8963 bales were sold. There was keen competition by Continental and Japanese buyers, with good support from Bradford. The market showed no material change. Greasy Merino sold up to 2oid.
