TARIFF TRUCE PROPOSAL
ATTITUDE OF THE DOMINIONS. MR. ;W. GRAHAM WILL PROCEED. . British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Jan. 28. Mr.. W. Graham, president of the Board of Trade, was questioned in The House of Commons regarding the views of the Dominion Government on the proposed tariff truce. He recalled that the' Governments of India and South Africa had communicated, to the League of Nations their decisions against participation, while the Government of the Irish Free State had notified the League that if was in favour of i,t. Mr. Graham. has; asked .whether he seriously. intended to proceed with the proposal in view of the opinions expressed by tlie Dominions. “Yes, certainly,” Air. Graham replied. “We have had 26 or 28 communications, from European and other countries and at the forthcoming conference at Geneva, whatever be the difficulties I intend to do my very best in this matter.”
