PICNIC FOR SWIMMERS

SEVERAL CLUBS COMBINE. Mr. W. H. Stephenson presided over a good attendance of the executives of the New Plymouth Amateur Swimmiim Club and the Fitzroy Surf Club on FrL‘ day evening when a combined picnic was decided upon. Some discussion took place as to the advisability of holding a combined picnic, but it was decided unanimously that this was the best course to follow. It was also pointed out that with the laro-e crowd which would probably attend It would be possible to organise swimming sports and water-polo matches. It was finally decided that it .re a recommendation from the meeting that the New Plymouth and Inglewood Amateur Swimming Clubs be invited to combine with the Fitzroy Surf Club in holding a picnic at the Everett Road Reserve on Sunday, January 26. This is the Sunday following the Fitzroy Surf Club's carnival, to be held at the Municipal baths on Saturday, January 25.
