KING’S CONFERENCE SPEECH. MANY AGENCIES CO-OPERATE. British Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Jan. 1. The King’s Speech at the opening of the International Conference on Naval Disarmament in the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords on January 21. which will be broadcast by wireless from all stations to British listeners, will also be heard in many other parts of the world. An experimental shortwave transmitter, SSW, will be used primarily for reception throughout the Empire. Through tho International Broadcasting Union at Geneva the British Broadcasting Corporation has offered facilities for relaying the proceedings by line from Savoy Hill or telephone by a wireless link from Daventry, SXX, to broadcasting organisations throughout Europe. In spite of the inconvenient' hour for American longitudes the National Broadcasting Company of the United States is arranging to relay the speech through its chain of stations.
