RECORD RAINFALL.

(From Our Own Correspondent).

The rainfall at Inglewood for December, 1929, constituted a record fall for that month since the rain gauge has been taken here. The month throughout was wet, there being but ten days without rain. The total fall for the month amounted to 14.18 inches, with twenty-one clays with rain, while the next wettest December was in 1921, when 12.07 inches, fell on nineteen days. The heaviest daily fall for the month was on the 4th, when 3.08 inches fell. The average fall for December is 7.62 inches. The total fall for the whole year is 92.82 indies, with 176 days with rain while for 1928 81.03 indies fell on 163 days. The heaviest monthly fall for 1929 was June, when 16.14 fell on 20 days, while the heaviest daily fall was on November 26, when 4.34 indies fell. For 1928 the heaviest monthly fall was September, when 14.20 inches fell on twenty-two days, and the heaviest daily fall was August 13, when 3.89 indies fell. The dryest month for 1929 was February, when 1.39 indies fell on five days, and for 1928 January was the dryest month, when only .23 indies fell on three days. The heaviest monthly fall since the rain gauge has been taken at Inglewood was experienced in October, 1926, when 19.12 indies fell on twenty-three days, while the lightest monthly fall was in January, 1928, when .23 fell on three days.
