EFFECT ON LONDON CONFERENCE

By Telegraph —Press Assn. —Copyright. Pari©, Dec. 31.

M. Lcygues, Minister of Marine, announced at a Cabinet Council that new, separate squadrons have been organised and are stationed in the Pacific, Indian Ocean, off the west coast of Africa, and in West Indian waters. A flying squadron, consisting of three new cruisers of the Duquesne twpe, has also beeii created.

The announcement comes on the eve of the London conference, and is believed to indicate that France insists on these ships as necessary for the protection of her colonies and that they cannot be considered as part of the quota allotted her if parity with Italy is demanded.
