MANY SPLENDID ATTKACTIONS.

The New Plymouth Rowing Club and the Ngamotu Domain Society have com- ( bined for the purpose of holding a monster gala and regatta at the Breakwater on New Year’s Day. A splendid programme of juvenile attractions has been arranged for the beach, including motor-tyre races for boys and girls’ and boys’ races over 25, 50 and 100 yards, egg and spoon races, ball and bucket. In the motor-launch, race splendid nominations have been received. The following owners and names of their launches will be the probable starters: — Mr. A. Allan’s “Madge,” Mr. J. Brough’s “Heniinari,” Air. W. Growcott’s launch, Mr. A. Crabtree’s launch, Air. I. Fitzpatrick’s launch, Air. F. Clare’s “Rapanui,” Air. J. Prestney’s launch, Air. W. Smith’s “Sea Wolf,” Air. W. Skipper’s “Dawn,” Air. S. Johnston’s “Alokau,” Air. D. Prestney’s “Waitemata,” Air. J. AlcKain’s “Maxi,” Air. C. Oakes’ “Aotea.” In an out-board motor-boat race the boats are estimated to do 25 to 30 knots. Hot water and milk will be provided free. The Taranaki Regimental Band will be in attendance. Special trains will stop at Pioneer Road, and a tram service every few minutes will run all day.
