A Coraki message states' that bush fires are sweeping over a huge area of heath- country between the Richmond River and the sea. The countryside has been burnt bare for miles and residences have- been destroyed. Two men, a woman and three children had a narrow escape from death when a lorry in which they were riding stopped. Fires were raging nearby and the occupants'were forced to seek shelter ,in a water hole. ....
