INNINGS AND 192 RUNS..TO SPARE.

MATCH FINISHES ON WET GROUND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night.... The Plunket Shield cricket match between Auckland and Otago was concluded at Eden- Park to-day, it resulting in an easy win for Auckland by an innings and 192 runs. . . 7 At the conclusion of the previous day’s play Auckland in the first innings had compiled 235 for six wickets in reply to Otago's first innings total of 67. Continuing yesterday Auckland carried tho score to 356. Mills, who had been 131 not out, added another 54 before being dismissed towards the close of the innings. The Otago side fared little better it the second innings than it did in the first, being again dismissed cheaply for 97 runs. Of this total Knight but his -display was not inspiring. The bowling of Matheson, Wensley and Anthony proved too good for the visitors. Matheson bowled splendidly and finished with the fine average of four for 25. Wensley and Anthony were called upon to bowl under difficult conditions but both acquitted themselves well. Rain fell at 3;30 p.m. and caused an adjournment for 45 minutes, but under thi wet conditions Auckland was able to decide the issue before stumps were drawn. The scores are: —
